US citizen allowed to enter West Bank?

hi,
i want to travel to the west bank in the summer and am wondering whether or not the Israelis will let me in. I wear the hijab, have an Arabic first name, but am not Arab. I am a US citizen.
will they stop me from entering Israel at the Ben Gurion airport? What is the best way to get to the West Bank from the airport? I read that the bus isn't best for first time travelers...will they do checkpoints/stop me while commuting as well?
