American to travel from england to amsterdam and back

I am American, currently visiting England. My passport was stamped on my arrival for six months. Originally I had planned on staying in England the entire time. Now a friend and I would like to go to Amsterdam for a few days. Is it going to be a problem getting back into England, after a short break to NL? I will still have over a month left on my original 6 month stamp. Im not sure how it all works, I just know that the UK is very strict, and I dont want to jeopardize the last part of my stay in England, especially because I wont be taking all my belongings with me to NL. Thanks to anyone with any insight, Im having trouble finding any definative answers.
