Visa required for travel to Padang Bay

My father will be traveling to Padang Bay on the Princess Cruises - Ship DAWN PRINCESS - he was wondering is he required a visa to be able to come ashore when the ship docks and if so how do we apply for a visa?

Vietnam visa fees

Visa on arrival will save you at least 20% over getting a same one at embassy.

There will be no consulate fee, time fee as well as no transportation fee to visit the Vietnam embassy. There will be no postage fee as everything is done over email.

There are two kinds of fee for both Visa on arrival (pick up at the airport) and Visa code (pick up at the Embassy): service fee and stamping fee.

The service fee will be paid us online in USD through OnePay. This service fee will be used to progress your visa approval letter.

The stamping fee
Visa on arrival: You will pay this stamping fee at the Vietnam airport to get your passport stamped. Your approval letter will be the legal evidence to show the airport Officer that you are allowed to legally enter Vietnam by the Vietnam Immigration Department.

Visa code: You will pay this fee directly at the Vietnam Embassy in your country to get your passport stamped. This fee will be different from country to country.

Vietnam visa exemption

Only citizens of certain countries can visit Vietnam without an Entry Visa (valid for visit within 30 days), specifically as follows:

- Not more than 30 days: for citizens of Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Laos.
- Not more than 15 days: for citizens of Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland.
- French citizens holding valid diplomatic passports are exempt from visa requirements when visiting Vietnam and are allowed to stay for up 3 months at one time or on several visits within six months since their first immigration dates.
- Citizens of Chile holding valid diplomatic or official passports are exempt from needing entry, exit and transit visas in Vietnam’s territory and are allowed to stay for up 60 days on each visit.
