Invitation to SEMINAR “HANOI TRADITIONAL TRADE VILLAGES – POTENTIALS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM”

In 2010, Hanoi is celebrating its 1,000 years anniversary - the 1,000 years of long history and rich culture. Traditional trade villages and handicrafts are part of the most distinguishing culture values. Ancient Hanoi is associated with products like Bat Trang ceramics, Van Ha wooden handicrafts, Ngu Xa bronze, Kieu Ky gold and silver leaves etc. After Hanoi’s recent expansion, the capital is also well-known for its traditional handicraft village such as: Van Phuc silk, Chuon Ngo Mother-of-pearl, Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan, Duyen Thai lacquer, Quat Dong embroidery, etc.

The skillfulness and meticulousness, the exquisite talents, and even the souls of the craftsmen are crystallized in every little detail of the handicrafts. These have been preserved, pass by and developed from one generation to another.
In order to promote the image of Vietnamese handicraft products and Hanoi traditional trade villages, Hanoi Industry and Trade Department co-operated with Abix JSC organize : “Hanoi Craft Week 2010” :  program with the theme “Thousand years of quintessence”.
