Best beaches near Athens

If you want to find great beach in short distance away from Athens you will find Loutraki.
Loutraki is a lovely town near the canal of Corinth, famous for the casino and it’s spa. You can find all kind of beaches you are searching for:
1. at the main beach of Loutraki - honoured with blue flag every year, there is also often appearance of dophins, which shows that the water is pure and clean.
2. at the Hotel Pappas, there is an amazing beach, which has free access and will make you forget real quick that you were in Athens one hour ago!
3. the blue lake at Heraio - swimming at a sea-lake, with blue surroundings
4. The ancient temple of Hera, small beach near the temple, combining history, wild nature and blue sea

Answer by nancyyoung on Friday, 07 January 2011 Loutraki is one of the finest beaches that I have ever came across during my vacations in Europe, mainly because of its clear water having less people around. There are many beaches around the world that are over hyped and do not deliver as per their popularity. I traveled in Europe last year and explored half of the Europe with my friends. We hired a car from http://www.pointcarhire.com/ and it was really good experience hiring from them. From my past experience would always prefer hiring car from them as they had good cars and with best customer service I have come across. |
